I'm a summer girl. I love the heat, and the pool, lazy mornings, and I especially love my kids being home. Until August 1st. Then I'm 100% team Fall. I start dreaming about a routine and football and chili and jeans and cozy quilts and candles. I also get very excited about my closet.
I'm not a materialistic person and I'm very frugal, but I do love beautiful comfortable clothing. Luckily for me, and my husband, and our budget, I've been shopping at Goodwill and yard sales since high school to support my clothing habit. I would say 90% of my clothing is second hand. With school and Fall on the horizon (yes I know it's July 31), I stopped by Goodwill the other day to update my capsule wardrobe (more on that soon) with a few new pieces. I share this with you because I want you to know that you don't have to spend a ton of money at the mall or shopping online to look and feel fabulous. Shopping second hand is great for the environment as well as your wallet. The following pieces came to a total of under $25.00, Goodwill tops and sweaters sell for $3.99, and dresses for $4.99.
I'm totally wearing this J. Crew top with some big black boots, black jeans, and my leather jacket. Going for the sweet but don't mess with me look. hahahaha!
Again big black boots, jeans, and a cozy black sweater, see below.
I loved the gold in this tee. Ripped jeans, brown boots, and green army jacket.
I fell in love with all the detail on the back of this sweater! I do get bored very quickly with my clothing (another reason I shop second hand). Once I'm done with an article of clothing, I will cut it up and make something else out of it. I'm going to wear this a few times before it becomes a pillow!!
Brand New Nordstrom black sweater. YES. I may or may not have pushed a lady out of the way when I saw this. Goals people.
I love dresses. I especially loved this $4.99 Banana Republic dress. I wear dresses to church and on dates with my hubby, but I also wear them around the house because they feel like fancy pjs. I'm totally comfortable and don't care a bit about lounging in a pretty dress because I paid less than what I would buy a coffee for.
All these amazing clothes for under $25.00!
Next time you pass a Goodwill, stop, go in, and go through one rack. I promise you will be amazed at what you find!
